A Love That Consumes
There is nothing on this planet, that without God, gives an essence of goodness.
I'm baffled by myself a lot.
Being human, I cause a lot of harm. My original nature is to lust, reveal others flaws, be better than, mock and all things pertaining to sin...
But yet, I am not looked at by these things.
I think one of the most beautiful things to witness or even watch through the media, is a military homecoming. (Yes, watch the minute-something video.)
Those are a few moments where there are no questions asked.
It's love...
It's love being emphatically poured out. It's pure and unfiltered.
I know that's how the Father loves us- all the time. And what is crazy to me is that we can experience that love whenever we desire to.
Scripturally, I think of the parable of the prodigal son. And man, the Father's heart was completely and persistently always in love with his boys. You can see that in how he gives himself to his sons in every way. You see, from the beginning of the story, he had already chosen for his sons to be the ones that he poured his love in to.
That is us... we are those sons. No matter where we go or what attitude we have, He never shortens or moves or resists or flinches His outreached arms toward us; nor does He fold His arms in disapproval at the lives we live.
I don't get it fully...
I don't know if I ever will.
But all I can tell you is that I can't live for anything less than this love. And gosh, do I want to be just like my Dad in the way that He loves us.
